About me

Finding the right therapist

I believe that warmth, compassion and collaboration are the foundation of a counselling relationship, and finding the right counsellor for you is essential. With this in mind, I offer an initial consultation via phone or Zoom, so that you can get a sense of who I am, how I work and whether I might be a good fit for you. It is an opportunity for me to answer any questions you may have about the process. I do not charge for this one-off meeting and I encourage you to ‘shop around’ until you find a therapist you are comfortable with.

How I work

It can be a daunting prospect coming to therapy, particularly when life feels difficult and overwhelming. As an integrative-relational therapist, I draw on a variety of different therapeutic approaches in my work with clients, depending on what may best suit an individual's needs and circumstances. I believe that the therapist/client relationship, is the most important ingredient of our work together.

Having a space to focus solely on you and your needs with an experienced professional can help you to find a way through what is going on for you. I am dedicated to offering a supportive, encouraging and confidential space to be yourself and work through what you wish to focus on. This may be feelings of anxiety, depression or low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, guilt, low self-worth or a general feeling of being stuck and not quite sure why.

Whatever your concern or issue, through sharing yourself, your worries, your fears and your feelings, we can begin to explore what exactly is happening, why this is happening and how you might be able to move forward.

I am committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcome people from all cultures, religions, ethnicities, sexualities and neurodivergence.

How to get started

I know how hard it can be to reach out for support when you’re feeling anxious and overwhelmed. If you think I might be a good fit for you, and you would like to find out more about how we might work together, please get in touch by email or phone. You will be met with warmth and kindness.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
