About me

I turned to counselling for help when I felt in crisis and needed someone to help me think straight. At the time I felt like my life was unraveling but I didn’t want to burden family and friends. I needed to speak truthfully to someone who would listen without judgement and would show me unconditional acceptance and love.
I was lucky enough to find that person in a counsellor and that was the beginning of the journey that has led me, many years later, to be able to provide that for others.
My aim is to provide a non-judgmental, empathetic, listening ear and a place where clients can talk through the challenges of life.

I can’t promise to solve your problems for you but I can help you to navigate a path through the storm.

I would love to hear from you, give me a call to arrange a free 30 minute call where we can begin to get to know each other then take it from there .

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified Integrative Therapist registered with the BACP. I am also doing a master's in Perinatal, Child, Adolescent and Families; A Psychoanalytical Approach at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, London.

Before going into private practice I worked for a charity that specialises in Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence therefore I have particular experience with Sexual Trauma.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

If you are unsure about counselling and want a chat first, I am happy to talk over the phone initially so we can get a sense of each other.  Or I can give an introductory session for a reduced fee of £20.

I am aware that the cost of counselling is too high for some people so I offer a limited amount of spaces on a sliding scale based on a clients financial situation. Please contact me for further details.

Further information

Therapy takes place in my home so you can expect a warm, comfortable and private place to talk.

I am happy to work online but find face to face works best for most clients.

I offer early morning sessions before work for people who work full time.

At the moment my daytime private is Thursdays but I will be expanding this to other days in July.

I currently do not offer evening sessions.
