About me
We can all have times in our lives when we find things tough, we can feel overwhelmed and struggle to cope or we may feel dissatisfied with our lives. This is how counselling can help.
I offer a safe space where you can talk openly and privately about your problems, feelings and behaviours. It gives you the opportunity to talk about yourself, and the issues you currently face.
We can build a therapeutic relationship based on trust and respect. It is a non judgmental space for you to speak about issues you face, that you may not feel comfortable to discuss with friends or family.
My aim is to support you in seeing things more clearly, exploring your understanding or view of your issue and supporting you to make the changes you want to improve your wellbeing.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an integrative counsellor who tailors the way I work for your specific needs because people do not fit into a box. This may be exploring the past using a psychodynamic approach. A person-centred non directive approach and CBT looking at thoughts, feelings and behaviours plus many more. During each session we will work together to achieve the goals you wish to explore.
I have extensive experience working with addiction having worked for a substance misuse service for the last 3 years.
Being apart of the LGBTQ++ community, it is my passion to support people with gender identity, coming to terms with sexuality, judgment from others and coming to terms with a diagnosis of HIV/AIDS.
Over the last year I have volunteered with Cruse bereavement working with clients suffering from grief and loss. I have also volunteered at Anxiety UK. I have undertaken various training on trauma, OCD, depression, Anxiety disorders, rape and sexual abuse.
