About me

Welcome to my counselling practice, where I am committed to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and discover a path to personal growth and healing. With compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of human behaviour, I strive to create a safe and supportive space for my clients to explore their thoughts, emotions and relationships.

As a registered member of the British Association For Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), I bring 25 years of experience from the working world and academia, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of life's difficulties. In my practice, I value the importance of finding the right therapist. Making this decision can be overwhelming, which is why I prioritise creating a non-judgmental environment where individuals can feel comfortable sharing their concerns. I offer an initial assessment to help prospective clients explore how we can work together and develop a sense of the therapeutic journey ahead.

Informed by various therapeutic approaches, including humanistic, cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic, and existential therapies, my integrative counselling style considers the whole person, addressing their mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I believe in empowering clients to lead the direction of therapy, providing the freedom to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviours at their own pace. The therapeutic relationship is fundamentally person-centred and is built on trust, respect, and understanding.

Training, qualifications & experience

I obtained my BSc (Hons) in integrative Psychotherapy from the University of East London, and I am dedicated to continuous professional development. Additionally, I have completed certifications in "An Introduction to Counselling" at Citylit and a foundation course in Psychosocial Studies at Birkbeck. I adhere to ethical guidelines established by the BACP and engage in ongoing training to enhance my skills and knowledge.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
