About me
What clients say:
"Jo has helped me more than I could have imagined. Jo has helped me to talk through thinking patterns that I didn't even realise I had, from this she has helped me to understand how things that have happened in my life have led to these patterns. I have learned a lot from Jo regarding the science behind the brain, I have been shown and explained why my brain works the way it does which has given me tools for managing my everyday life."
"I cannot recommend Jo enough!! I had tried counselling before and thought it wasn’t for me. I now realise that finding the right counsellor makes all the difference."
"I had gone to Jo to help deal with the pressures of being a father, business owner and trustee. But I came away with so much more than that. Without any question, Jo gets my highest recommendation."
Hello, I'm Jo.
People come to me with various issues that leave them feeling overwhelmed, struggling to cope, or seeking answers. Right now, you may be experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, depression or intrusive thoughts that won’t go away. It doesn’t need to be this way. I specialise in helping people find the root cause so we can work together to effectively target the issue at its source, helping you to enjoy long-lasting results.
Everything we do is a normal, human reaction to our unique environments, biology and psychology. I can guarantee you that your current situation will make sense given your situation and what you’ve been through. A core part of our work together is exploring your experiences and using various evidence-based strategies to give you more control over your present and future life.
I am trained in several therapy disciplines, including CBT, psychodynamic, person-centred and integrated psychotherapy, because one size definitely does not fit all!
Finding the right therapist is vital to success. To help you decide if I'm the right therapist for you, I offer a free initial 20-minute consultation.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Testimonials
"Jo helped me enormously in acknowledging and recognising the root causes of behaviours that were causing me distress in my day to day life. She was kind, compassionate and caring but also knowledgeable and I felt in safe hands in every session we had together."
"Until I met Joanna I had never felt understood by anyone. I lived in a bubble with persistent anxiety as well as severe depression. During our first meeting, she showed patience and interest... For the first time that I could remember I felt relaxed talking to someone new. "
"Jo is compassionate, supportive, caring and totally trustworthy. I was able to share so much I had kept bottled up for decades. I trust Jo implicitly, not just with my past, but with the ‘tools’ she gave me enabling me to cope so much better than I ever thought I could."
