About me

Hello and welcome.

I work as a Relational Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, offering therapeutic services from either a counselling suite environment, natural outdoor space, home visit or online. Integrative means that I have trained in many theoretical approaches, allowing me to tailor each session appropriately and uniquely to your needs. I enjoy working creativly and have experience working with ASD, ADHD and other neuro-diverse difficulties.

You may be struggling within relationships, suffering with depression, anxiety or simply feel like you don't belong.  I feel that everyone deserves to feel heard and supported through these times.  Due to my own personal experiences I have a deep appreciation of just how vital the therapeutic relationship can be in enabling healing, creating self-awareness and developing a grater sense of well-being.

When we first meet, I will explain how I work and gain an understanding of the difficulties that you are bringing to therapy so that we can decide if I am the right person for you.  Finding the right counsellor is essential when beginning your therapeutic journey.

I am committed to offering a service that provides a warm, empathic, non-judgmental space that values and respects your personal experiences.

Together, we have the opportunity to explore personal difficulties in a confidential and supportive environment. Greater self-awareness enables enlightenment & growth.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an Integrative Counsellor and use knowledge & skills drawn from various theories to provide sessions of support specific to an individual's requirements.

Qualifications - Degree in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy BA(Hons).

Diploma Level 3 in Integrative Counselling.

Diploma Level 4 in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy.

Diploma Level 5 (Foundation Degree) in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy.

Experience - I assist in running a support group - Nature & Nurture. This group offers emotional support out in nature for young people, young adults, parents and families suffering from emotional difficulties.  Most recently, I have set up a support group for the parents of struggling young people - Nature & Nurture for Parents.

I have experience working with patients suffering from learning disabilities & neuro-diverse difficulties, where I provide psychological & emotional support within a forensic rehabilitation setting.

I enjoy researching & studying within my professional field & strive to keep my Continuing Professional Development current - Details of this training can be provided upon request. I hold an enhanced DBS & valid insurance.

I am a member of the British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP). This membership body is accredited by the government's voluntary Professional Standards Authority register (PSA). This assures that I have met a high level of training & experience.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
