About me
As an Arts therapist I use the creative process to help integrate the resources of the body as well as the mind, for a more holistic approach to healing. This therapeutic approach considers the whole person, mind, body, and spirit, as they look for a better way forward. Art forms such as writing, image-making, role-play, music, and movement, can all be used as ways to access our inner resources, bringing renewed understanding, acceptance, and confidence in our ability to make positive changes in our lives.
Arts therapy can also help shift unhelpful repetitive thinking, which is often a contributing factor when experiencing high anxiety or low mood. This creative process is also one that promotes self- acceptance and compassion, as it is often our self-judgement that can be one of the biggest hurdles.
My approach is informed by body-oriented psychotherapy, somatic experiencing, neuroscience, transpersonal psychotherapy, expressive arts therapy, and mindfulness. As a qualified Arts Psychotherapist with over fifteen years of experience, I've witnessed the significant changes which can take place with this practice in just a short space of time.
If this sounds like something you'd like to explore further, I'd love to hear from you. In our initial call we'll clarify what you are hoping to gain from therapy and if this approach is a good fit for you. Please email me on the address given, and we can arrange a time for an informal chat.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
