About me

Hello, and thank you for considering me as your counsellor.

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and registered member of the BACP working in Wiltshire. I meet clients in comfortable rooms in the centre of Salisbury. I also work with residents of Wiltshire online by video call.

How might I help?

Perhaps you are feeling down, confused, stuck or dissatisfied. Anxious or uncertain about your life or your relationships. Perhaps you’re seeking support after a bereavement or difficult life event, or perhaps you’re feeling a desire to know yourself better.

I can offer a down-to-earth, open-hearted and empathetic ear to whatever you bring, and a dedicated safe space for you to explore your experiences, reactions and emotions. I strive to be a fellow traveller as my clients explore themselves, perhaps meet themselves fully, without judgement or preconceptions.

My training and ways of working

I’m trained in integrative humanistic counselling, which means that I have a grounding in a range of therapeutic and psychological theories which I can bring into our work, with the goal of helping you and meeting your therapeutic needs.

Person-centred, existential and relational approaches are at the core of my way of being with clients. This means our time together is your time, what happens in the therapy will grow out of what you bring, and what is happening in the present moment of our meeting. Fundamentally I’m steered by the belief that we all have what we need inside ourselves to thrive, given the right conditions. In our time together we can seek to find some of those conditions.

Life can be complicated, and humans are complicated too. Perhaps through talking therapy, we can untangle some of that complexity, find some clarity, self-knowledge and self-compassion to make our own experience of life more manageable, more fruitful.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
