About me

Placing your trust in a Counsellor takes a little courage but as an award-winning counsellor with an excellent international reputation (working with children young people and adults) I can reassure you that you've found your place here.

On average, my clients report feeling much better by the third session, that's just three sessions, less than a month, imagine feeling better by summer, it's just around the corner ...

Highly qualified with thousands of counselling hours of practice, (that's a lot of people and years), I have the tools (recently published in Assessment and Treatment Activities for Children, Adolescents, and Families: Volume 4 ) to help you (or your family) wherever you are, to become less stressed and socially anxious, fearful or depressed. I have the techniques to help you to make huge decisions or solve dilemmas, cope better with transitions and challenging behaviours, deal with the past, move on from guilt shame or 'what if's 'should and ought' toos' and find contentment again.

How do we get started? You can call or email to set up an initial conversation and I will ask you some gentle questions to figure out what you would want to achieve from your counselling.  If you like the sound of my approach, we'll set up an initial assessment session and start from there.

What am I like as a person? You will find me determined, caring and focused on your well-being. I do not add 'and me' to everything that you say, I offer you techniques and ways to problem-solve, and better understand yourself (or your loved ones) or your situation.

Whether a child or an adult, I use extensive skills and experience to gently help you to connect to the problem, explore your thoughts feelings and behaviours and help you to clarify what you need, even if that simply is peace and quiet

Online or face to face, you can feel less anxious, feel more confident and make life-lasting positive changes.

I look forward to meeting you soon,

Jen

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Since then I have worked with families all over the world, offering insights and solutions. Recently, my work was published in Assessment and Treatment Activities for Children, Adolescents, and Families Volume 4: Practitioners Share Their Most Effective Techniques 2022.

I am very impressed with her Counselling Skills, quite possibly a Master of her craft'. 'Jen was my guiding light when I enrolled in her “Love and Logic” parenting course'.
