About me

Taking the first step to approaching therapy can be really difficult. Finding help might have been on your mind for a while or perhaps suddenly something has stopped working and you are looking for a way to explore your current, past or future situations. Whatever has brought you here, I want to encourage you that you are making a healthy decision for yourself.

What do I offer?

I offer long term and short term psychotherapy and counselling.  I work in an integrative way which means that I use a variety of theoretical approaches to suit you as my client. Usually this involves talking therapy but depending on your personal interests we can incorporate more creative approaches if this might help you to explore more freely. Expressing oneself verbally is not easy for everybody. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can provide a healing and explorative experience for a client as they can examine how they are in a safe space with another. I work with a broad range of issues such as depression, anxiety, self esteem, disordered eating, grief and loss, trauma, suicidal thoughts and ideation, relationships, anger, sexual abuse, sleep, addiction, parenting, trauma and self harm.

Therapy and Counselling Sessions

My practice is based in Old Windsor.  Sessions last for 50 minutes and are usually held once a week at the same time.  I offer an initial meeting where we can have an open discussion about your needs and I can answer any questions that you might have. If you would like to work together then we will organise a regular time to meet and decide on the right therapeutic plan for you. I can also provide Zoom and telephone counselling for weeks when you may be travelling and still want a session.

I adhere to the UKCP and BACP ethical framework, meaning that I value each of my clients as a unique person, taking in to account diversity, equality and inclusion and protecting their confidentiality and privacy.

Training, qualifications & experience

Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regents University London
Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regents University London
Foundation Certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regents University London
Certificate in Sand Tray Therapy at The Gestalt Centre
Accredited Member of UKCP and Registered Member of BACP
I regularly attend CPD days covering a  broad range of topics to enhance and update my training. I am also in supervision to ensure that I am practicing in my client's best interest. I have a full DBS check and First Aid Training.

As well as my private practice, I currently work as a student counsellor at a University in Surrey and elsewhere work with Youth and Adults in an open-ended framework for a charity. In other work previous to my training I have had experience with primary aged children and babies, young people with complex needs and worked closely with more senior adults. I have a degree in Fine Art and am passionate about involving creative practice in therapy. If this is something that interests you then we can integrate that in to your personal therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
