About me
Taking the first step to approaching therapy can be really difficult. Finding help might have been on your mind for a while or perhaps suddenly something has stopped working and you are looking for a way to explore your current, past or future situations. Whatever has brought you here, I want to encourage you that you are making a healthy decision for yourself.
What do I offer?
I offer long term and short term psychotherapy and counselling. I work in an integrative way which means that I use a variety of theoretical approaches to suit you as my client. Usually this involves talking therapy but depending on your personal interests we can incorporate more creative approaches if this might help you to explore more freely. Expressing oneself verbally is not easy for everybody. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can provide a healing and explorative experience for a client as they can examine how they are in a safe space with another. I work with a broad range of issues such as depression, anxiety, self esteem, disordered eating, grief and loss, trauma, suicidal thoughts and ideation, relationships, anger, sexual abuse, sleep, addiction, parenting, trauma and self harm.
Therapy and Counselling Sessions
My practice is based in Old Windsor, we can meet face to face or online. Sessions last for 50 minutes and are usually held once a week at the same time. I am open to working fortnightly or more flexibly where appropriate too. I offer an initial meeting where we can have an open discussion about your needs and I can answer any questions that you might have. If you would like to work together then we will organise a regular time to meet and decide on the right therapeutic plan for you.
I adhere to the UKCP and BACP ethical framework, meaning that I value each of my clients as a unique person, taking in to account diversity, equality and inclusion and protecting their confidentiality and privacy.
Supervision
I have recently completed the training portion of the Diploma in Supervision at the Gestalt Centre and am accruing hours with supervisees as I work towards the full qualification. I have a particular interest, training and experience with eating disorders and trauma and like to work collaboratively and creatively where appropriate.
My focus in my client work and with supervisees is on the relationship, I feel it can provide a real time 'petri dish' of insight in to one's inner world and how someone may be presenting outside of therapy. This in turn can offer us as practitioners a deeper self-awareness. I take a curious and compassionate approach to what arises in supervision so we can explore and experiment together, in the hope you will feel able to bring the things that may feel awkward, difficult or taboo to talk about. I also believe supervision should allow space for some personal issues when they arise in the professional work, and whilst it is not therapy, supervision needs to support you as our work asks us to bring so much of ourselves and this can be challenging.
I adhere to the BACP and UKCP ethical framework and would like to support you in reflecting on your practice, developing new skills and integrating theory in to practice.
If you are a qualified therapist or counsellor looking for additional supervision please do contact me for a discussion to see if we would be a good fit.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
