About me

Hi, my name is Jen and I am a fully trained integrative counsellor based in Swindon and Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire. I work with adults over 18, offering face to face and online sessions to clients within my private practice.  I offer a warm and friendly space for you to explore your issues, worries and concerns.

Considering beginning counselling can be a daunting prospect, one that you may have wrestled with many times already. In my experience as both counsellor and client, the most important question to ask yourself is - what do I need and want from counselling?

If any of the following answers to this question feel relevant or important to you, we may just be a good fit for each other.

  • I need to feel heard, and to have my feelings and experiences validated.
  • I want to explore issues that I have found difficult to look at in the past, but I need to feel comfortable and supported in doing so.
  • I need to feel a connection with my counsellor that makes me feel understood, accepted, and not judged.
  • I want to come away from a session with increased self-awareness and insight that I can work on in my everyday life. I don’t want to feel like I am being analysed and dictated to.
  • I need to feel that I am in control of what we talk about, how deep or far we go and the pace of the sessions.
  • I want to love and accept myself more and feel empowered to achieve my goals and maintain healthy boundaries.
  • I need to allow myself the space and time to find the clarity required to stop feeling stuck.

I offer sessions Monday - Friday, within normal office hours. Unfortunately I am not currently able to offer evening or weekend sessions. My office is based in Bowman House Business Centre, Whitehill Lane, Royal Wootton Bassett, SN4 7DB, just off Junction 16 of the M4.

Please feel free to visit my website to learn more about me and my approach, what counselling entails and how it may help you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I achieved my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from Willows Counselling and Training Centre in Swindon, and my private counselling practice is now based in the area.

I am an integrative counsellor, which means I can draw on different psycho-therapeutic theories and counselling models depending on your needs and requirements. My approach is person-centred and holistic in nature, meaning the therapy will be led by you, underwritten by a foundation of trust, empathy, and non-judgement.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such, I am bound by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy (Code of Ethics).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
