About me

When you are overwhelmed with challenges in life, feel stuck, or deal with mental health issues, devastating loss or trauma, it is helpful to talk with someone who can guide and support you. Counselling can help you sort through the things in your life that are important to you. When you feel understood and cared for, hopelessness leaves the room. You can then grow in courage to walk your journey without being alone.

About Me

I am a fully qualified Integrative Psychotherapist with experience of working with adults and adolescents. I have worked as a school Counsellor in one of Suffolk's largest high schools and continue to see adults at my private practice in Burwell, Cambridgeshire.

I am a registered member of the BACP and am working towards my accreditation.

I use an integrative and holistic approach based on Humanistic principles and incorporate Psychodynamic ideas, both of which respect the individuality and particular needs of each client. I also use dreamwork and imagery.

My work centres on the belief that the quality of relationships between people are of paramount importance in respect of healthy human development and well-being.

My therapeutic work with clients focuses on the here and now whilst making links with the past. I work with clients to help them achieve their potential and develop in a positive way.

I will not judge you or try to tell you what to do, I will provide a safe and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may be affecting your life. I offer both long and short term therapy and will work with you at your own pace.

You can contact me by phoning, emailing, texting or messaging on WhatsApp using the contact details here. If I cannot answer my phone please leave a voicemail and I will get back to you as soon as I am available.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
