Jason Valenti-Individual & Couples Counsellor-MBACP (Registered)
I will be working exclusively online via Skype, WhatsApp & Facetime for the foreseeable future. I have experience of working in this way and it is very effective in the same way face to face counselling is. You can also contact me for one off online check ins to discuss any anxiety or stress you maybe experiencing in this difficult time.
In addition to my counselling services, I am now offering a walk and talk therapy service. This will be for a 30 minute period, whilst observing recommended social distancing.
You may wish to have a one off session to just discuss how you are currently feeling, or you may wish to do this on a regular weekly basis
Please feel free to contact me to discuss your needs further and to arrange your first session!!!!!!
It can seem daunting making a commitment to counselling, but by reading my profile you have taken the first steps towards acknowledging your wish to explore your feelings, thoughts and emotions.
I am an experienced counsellor who is able to offer to you weekly sessions in a confidential, safe and calm environment that is without judgement. I work from my family home in Selsdon, South Croydon, CR2 8SR. There is unrestricted parking outside my home and a good bus service if you require public transport.
Todays modern world can at times prove extremely fast and hectic, which can lead to feelings of anxiety, stress, depression and also issues surrounding relationships. Together we can explore these feelings and hopefully make sense of what may being going on for you. I have qualified as an Integrative Counsellor, which means I have trained in many theoretical approaches. I am therefore able to tailor your therapy for your own specific needs.
I also offer couples counselling from my private practice. I offer emotionally focused couples therapy. This form of therapy is over a period of sessions and allows for the couple to hear one another and reconnect in a more secure way, whilst feeling safe. If you are feeling anger, fear or loss within your relationship the safe space I provide will allow you to express these feelings to your partner without being rejected.
In addition to working in private practice I also work as a Grief & Bereavement Counsellor for a hospice in West Sussex. Loss can be very prevalent within my client work and I find loss can show its self in many different ways.
I also have trained in the loss of a baby/infant. This could be during pregnancy, a stillbirth or sudden infant syndrome death, (SIDS, cot death). I am able to offer to you a safe space in which to explore your emotions. Any type of loss can be very confusing, however the loss of an infant even more so as this is not the correct way in how we perceive loss. I can work with you to discuss this confusion and other raw emotions you are experiencing.
Loss I have found through working with my clients can come in many different forms. These could be loss of a relationship, a parent, of childhood and of self worth and esteem, to name but a few. I have found there are many emotions relating to loss, grief and bereavement. If you are experiencing these emotions together we can explore them and work through these so you can have a better understanding of these emotions and ultimately try to aim to towards acceptance of your losses.
Furthermore I have many years of experience of working with clients and their addictions. These could be alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex and food.
I am an affiliated counsellor for OH Assist, helping clients in the workplace deal with life experiences and clients returning to work after being away on long term illness. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by either email or phone.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
