About me

I am a clinical psychologist and qualified psychotherapist offering both short and longer-term therapy. I take an integrative approach to my work, drawing on various therapeutic models, and in a way that is flexible and adapted to the needs of each client. I am experienced in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and often draw on mindfulness techniques in my clinical work. With the pressures and fast pace of modern life, many people face difficulties with anxiety and depression, which are areas that I have a particular interest in.

My approach with clients who are struggling with difficult experiences is to cultivate a therapeutic relationship that is safe and healing, helping to provide clarity and support, and enabling them to restore greater balance in their lives. Therapy often includes exploration of the past and seeks to make sense of its impact on present experiences/difficulties. While much of my work aims to help with particular difficulties that an individual is experiencing, I also offer therapy to those seeking to understand themselves better.

I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a doctorate in clinical psychology from Canterbury Christ Church University and a post-graduate diploma in transpersonal and integrative psychotherapy from the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE). I regularly undertake CPD courses.  I am also a qualified school teacher.

I have worked with clients from various backgrounds and ages including children, young people, adults and older adults. Much of my experience has been in the NHS and includes inpatient, outpatient and community settings, working with a range of mental health problems including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, eating disorders, phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and learning difficulties.
