About me
PTSD and Trauma specific specialist ...
Welcome..
‘I believe we are all unique and therefore adopt a personalized, collaborative approach to therapy. In our work together, I aim to ensure a warm, compassionate and client focused approach to enable you to understand your individual experiences.
Using some specific therapeutic tools and techniques and/or often exploring past experiences can promote significant change. This may support you to manage and make life-long meaningful changes independently which you can continue to adopt long after our work together is ended.’
I offer specialist Individual EMDR Therapy & Psychotherapy for people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, traumatic bereavement, OCD, panic attacks, eating disorders, grief, phobias, pain disorders, performance anxiety, stress, and physical/sexual abuse as well as Covid related traumatic experiences.
Whether you have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder, are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, trauma or depression, or are struggling with general life stressors, I can help you identify areas impacting on your wellbeing and provide you with confidence and the tools to make positive change.
Most of my clients usually see an improvement within the first few sessions, and a greater sense of wellbeing throughout therapy.
All therapy offered conforms with NICE Guidelines as recommended for the Gold Standard of Psychotherapy.

Training, qualifications & experience
Jacqueline is a highly experienced accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP ) and registered with the EMDR Association UK with over 20 years of clinical experience within the NHS, private sector, and charity organisations.
She has had the privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life, to support them with emotional and psychological difficulties.
Jacqueline is an experienced and confident supervisor and lecturer who has supported many students to qualify in Counselling & Psychotherapy, as well as previously offering supervision to qualified and trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP) in IAPT.
Jacqueline has lectured at various local universities and colleges on the BSC (Hons) & FdA Counselling & Psychotherapy in CBT, research methodologies, social psychology, and therapeutic interventions. She has taught specifically at Undergraduate (Level 5 & 6) as well as in general education for young adults offering communication skills and core curriculum teaching.
Jacqueline has also previously been selected to be part of the UKCP Professional Conduct Committee. The Professional Conduct Committee oversees UKCP's Complaints and Conduct Process, and professional conduct issues, ensuring due process is followed and determining the most appropriate response to new situations. It also reviews the outcome of all Panels to discuss complaints relating to UKCP Members Professional Conduct, Fitness to Practice or Breaches of UKCP polices and make informed decisions relating to complaints.
Jacqueline currently works both for the NHS and in private clinical practice offering therapy for adults on an individual basis. She accepts referrals from individual members of the public, organisations, EAPs, and referrals from other practitioners or NHS providers.
Within her extensive clinical roles and teaching, Jacqueline has demonstrated the importance of adopting a holistic approach, using evidence-based psychological therapies of both integrative and CBT modalities as well as incorporating, where necessary, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is mainly used to help with traumatic feelings that have come about due to traumatic experiences. These include car crashes/road accidents, physical violation/assault, early childhood trauma or the loss of a loved one to name a few. It is a popular therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder, but it is increasingly being used for other issues too.
Jacqueline has a specialist interest in complex trauma and specifically OCD. She also has a dedicated personal curiosity in moving towards equine-assisted psychotherapy and expanding her knowledge and training towards incorporating EMDR for animals. She enjoys her retired rescue racehorse and therapy dog connecting with nature and long walks.

We currently offer Psychotherapy in the comfort of your personal surroundings via Microsoft Teams video call direct to your therapist or by visiting a therapy room in person. WE ALSO OFFER IN PERSON SESSIONS.
A brief message from our Lead Specialist CBT / EMDR Psychotherapist:
"Prior to the pandemic, in-person face-to-face therapy was the most requested mode of therapy engagement by my patients using the NHS and generally by people accessing my private practice. Since this time, things have significantly changed in the therapeutic world and we can now offer a much broader way of ensuring people can gain access to, and benefit from, all kinds of therapy.
In 2020, many therapists (both in the NHS & Privately) reverted to online face-to-face therapy solely as a means of continuing to offer the essential support to people when the world was unable to meet in person - with fantastic outcomes and adaptations! Some outcomes have been considered to be more effective when delivered online face-to-face than in person sitting in an unfamiliar room - for various reasons. In fact, Psychologists and researchers will have a vast role in understanding the impact of online face-to-face delivery of therapy for many years to come.
During the assessment phase of your therapy, we can explore how online face-to-face psychotherapy can enhance your sessions, and we can guide you to using your personal mobile phone, laptop, tablet or computer to gain the most from your sessions."
