About me
I have over 20 years of experience as a Therapist/Counsellor. I am UKCP registered. I enjoy working with people from all backgrounds and cultures.
I believe we all have the ability to find our way through difficulties, and the different phases, that life brings. At times we can get stuck or lost. Therapy/Counselling is an opportunity to explore your situation and potential ways forward. It is an opportunity to understand your self and your life better, which is essential for better well being.
I work in a Person Centered way. I respect the pace and presence of each person that comes to meet me. In my thinking and relating I draw on my understanding of theories and ways of working that I have over the years found most helpful for my clients.
My training was Humanistic and Integrative.
I offer face to face sessions INDOORS and OUTDOORS (rural wooded area or walking) . I can offer sessions ONLINE. I can also work in finnish language.
I enjoy working with people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures. I work in a person centered way respecting the pace and space that each client coming to meet me brings. I draw in my thinking and relating on theories that have over the years connected with me most, and proved to be ones supporting my clients best.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold an MA in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy.
I regularly attend further professional training, workshops and supervision. I am currently particularly interested in our relationship with nature, and the therapeutic and restorative qualities of it.
I have experience of working both in private and organisational settings. I am experienced in working with young people - NOTE privately 16 years and up
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
