About me

Are you trying to push through the day but feeling overwhelmed and unable to make a change? Anxiety and depression can have different roots- can be triggered by recent events or coming from past experiences. The stressors could be internal, external or both.I look at the person holistically with aim of providing safe and empowering sessions.

You might have a feeling of being lost or broken, and the thoughts and emotions become overwhelming. Perhaps you would like a shift and build a stronger relationship with yourself, or it is other relationships that are not fulfilling. You know want you want and that you deserve better but are unsure how to change that.

Perhaps you have lost meaning and purpose and want to work on the identity are you and where you want to be, to get clarity and direction.

ADHD Neurodivergent affirmative therapist with lived experience of ADHD.

ADHD clients have different reasons for coming to therapy and needs can change with time. Some are at the stage of looking at diagnoses, others have recently had one or were  diagnosed as kids.

In our therapeutic journey, you will have the autonomy to define the goals for our sessions. I offer a personalized and integrative approach to therapy tailored specifically to your needs. We can explore your past experiences and their impact on your life, or we can focus on developing tools for emotional regulation and executive function while examining your relationships with yourself and others.

I recognize that even those closest to you may not always understand your unique journey. My primary aim is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself, delve into your thoughts and emotions, and navigate the challenges of living in a world primarily designed for neurotypical individuals. Together, we will work towards your personal growth and overall well-being.

Finding meaning and purpose in supporting people from all marginalised groups.I have curiosity, experience and love for working with different cultures, including the impact of cultures one experiences and navigates through. Non-judgemental, sensitive and welcoming to all religions and cultures -my aim is to provide confidential, safe and empowering sessions.

I aim to reply within 24-48 hours and I always reply. Please check your spam email. If you leave a phone number, I would use that just to text saying initial contact has been made in case my first email goes to junk mail.

Training, qualifications & experience

I can offer short-term solutions-focused therapy (experience in NHS) and open-ended longer-term therapy that allows for deeper exploration. My approach is relational and integrative, which means that the sessions are tailored to each individual unique needs and goals, with a confidential, safe and nurturing space being the foundation of working together. I value authenticity and humility and show up as me – perfectly imperfect as anyone else, not a professional in the room.

I believe that you have the solutions inside you and will be a co-traveller on this journey in a non-judgmental and non-directive way. My approach is also holistic, looking at mind-body and soul as a whole.

The list of specialities above is an example. I could add to the following, but not limited to:

  • 12 steps recovery programs- I am passionate about supporting people in recovery
  • Adult children of dysfunctional families -No family is perfect, but if your experiences still affect you and you want to break the cycle, I am here to support you.
  • Existential work focusing on meaning and purpose- we can get lost in this 24/7 productive capitalist culture and sense that there is more to life.
  • Spiritual work – not attached to specific practice or religion- sometimes we might feel drawn to strengthen that connection- different religions and philosophies can provide extra support, and I will support you with what resonates with you.
  • Marginalised and oppressed individuals in relation to race and ethnicity but not limited. I am fascinated by the intersectionality, Critical Race Theory and social constructs that serve some while greatly impacting others.
  • Multi-cultural conflicts- inner conflict between individual and collective cultures. Having been exposed to both has sparked a love for different cultures. I aim to provide support in a culturally sensitive, informed way, where your voice and experience matters.
  • Creatives and entrepreneurs, out-of-the-box thinkers that need to build confidence, motivation and focus.

I have lived experience with ADHD and different cultures, which helps me connect with different experiences and work with the challenges that comes with it.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
