About me

Sometimes life throws us something particularly challenging to deal with, other times everyday events may accumulate until one tiny thing feels overwhelming. This can leave us at the mercy of our emotions, neither living nor feeling the way we’d like. Therapy can be an invaluable way to manage the challenges you might be facing; however they arose.

Whether you need space to offload or wish to change the patterns of a lifetime, I can offer you a warm, compassionate, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship. Together we can work towards a deeper understanding of what’s causing your difficulties and how these might be addressed.

The focus of therapy should be about living a more fulfilled and contented life in the present and future. However, unhelpful ways of being are often rooted in the past. By exploring this together we can help you understand what might be getting in your way.

Greater self-knowledge and awareness developed in therapy can help to develop better relationships, not just with others but with ourselves. This can lead to increased self-compassion and a more contented way of being. Equally, it can be healing to process difficult emotions and experiences that you might have pushed aside in order to get on with day-to-day life.

If you send me an email we can arrange a free chat on zoom, or the phone, to help you work out if therapy with me would be useful to you. We can then follow this up with an initial session, which I offer at a reduced rate of £50.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling from The Minster Centre, one of the UK’s leading training institutions for counsellors and psychotherapists.

I'm currently completing an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling at the Minster Centre, accredited by Middlesex University.

Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in factual television. I understand the challenges of working in a high pressure environment.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
