About me

Have you felt overwhelmed? Caught in a negative thought cycle? Feel you would benefit from processing past trauma? Experienced loss or bereavement? Or maybe you wish to expand your self-awareness? Have space to off load some of the stressors in everyday life?

It can be a daunting place to find ourselves in when we may feel like we have 'nothing left'. Emotional regulation is often hard to achieve when we experience challenges with our mental health. We may find the tools we use are no longer productive and the physical footprint of poor mental health becomes more evident. We can find ourselves placing trust in the negative thoughts and believing this to be true, often forgetting what joy and calm can feel like. Without a base level of regulation, basic daily activity could become a stressor. Have you ever been filled with the feeling of dread when the phone rings? Or a sinking feeling when the doorbell rings? This causes us to become emotionally reactive and remain living in a hypervigilant state.

Therapy can offer a safe space that is solely for you to be heard and validated. It provides space to reflect and explore whatever you wish to bring to the sessions. Therapy can help you discover personal blind spots and gain a deeper understanding of feelings such as fear, shame and sense of crisis. To challenge any faulty thinking or beliefs we may have developed throughout life.

My main goal is to ensure you feel supported and valued throughout. Research shows the importance of the therapeutic relationship, and I couldn't agree more. I would be delighted to offer this space for you, a space that is built on the three core conditions - Empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence.

If you feel I could be the right therapist for you, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or telephone. I offer a free 15-minute telephone call. The focus of this call will be to explore if I am the right therapist for you, what has brought you to therapy and what you would hope to achieve during our time together.

A quote I often reflect on - 'Let everything happen to you, beauty and terror, just keep going, no feeling is final' -Rainer Maria Rilke. What are your thoughts when you read this quote?

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
