About me

I provide a kind and welcoming space, where you can feel safe to share what is going on for you.  Please know I will always listen, and do my best to understand you.

Creating a safe space for you to share your thoughts, and to feel heard without judgement, is paramount for me.  Psychotherapy and counselling sessions with me, will involve working through things at a pace you feel comfortable with.

How I work: Therapy for Mind & Body...
Offering Psychotherapy and Counselling with a mind-body approach.  Mind-body approaches recognise the intricate relationship between thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behaviours, viewing them as interconnected components of overall well-being.

The aim is to address issues holistically, considering both psychological and physiological factors contributing to an individual's distress or imbalance.

Here are some key principles and techniques often employed in mind-body counselling approaches:

Holistic Perspective: Viewing individuals as whole beings, acknowledging the interplay between mind, body, and spirit. Understanding that mental and emotional states can impact physical health and vice versa.

Mindfulness: Mindfulness practices are central to many mind-body counselling approaches. This involves cultivating present-moment awareness without judgment. Techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, and body scans can help you to become more attuned to your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations.

Cognitive-Behavioural Techniques: Mind-body counsellors may incorporate cognitive-behavioural techniques to address maladaptive thought patterns and behaviours. By identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts, you can learn to change your cognitive processes, which can lead to improvements in emotional well-being and physical health.

Stress Reduction: Stress management techniques play a significant role in mind-body counselling. Chronic stress has been linked to numerous physical and mental health problems, so exploring how to effectively manage stress through relaxation exercises and lifestyle changes can be very beneficial.

I offer an integrative approach and will tailor our sessions to suit your needs. I may also share some suggestions and techniques along the way, to help support you in day to day life. Being an integrative therapist means I use a combination of therapeutic approaches; including psychotherapy, counselling, mindfulness, visualisation and relaxation techniques, and CBT.

I aim to support you in creating better balance within your life, and to feel more able and prepared to make the changes you are seeking.

Experience and areas of interest:

I offer support in many areas. These include, but are not limited to: fertility support, pregnancy loss, pregnancy, anxiety disorders, stress, depression, self-confidence and self-esteem, past trauma, domestic abuse, relationship issues, loss and grief, work related issues.

I have a specialist interest in infertility and pregnancy loss. As well as being a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I am a Certified Hypnotic Fertility Practitioner. I am a member of the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA) and I have completed specialist training in this area.
