About me
Hello, my name is Gill.
Thank you for looking at my profile. I am an experienced child and adult Counsellor. My compassion, empathy and intuition stem from my past experience as a registered nurse. This vocation led me into specific training in Counselling and emotional well-being, ultimately becoming a integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (using different models of established counselling, tailored to your needs). I have many years of experience, working with children and young people from 5 to 19 years, having worked in schools and with private clients. I specifically trained to work with this age group.
I also developed a successful and recognised well-being service aimed at young people aged from 11 to 19 years old within the Stockton area, which has been recognised as having a positive impact on many young people who were referred to the service. This has including working with a range of issues such as: Stress and anxiety, education pressures/expectations, identifying as LGBT, porn addiction, dysfunctional relationships, eating disorders, bullying, loss and bereavement. I also provide one to one or family group parenting support/advice. This includes working with looked after children, those in care and families who are foster carers or adopting children. I have experience working with neurodivergant children & young people, particularly ASD & ADHD. I offer support for parents and siblings within a family.
I have vast experience of working with adults with varying issues. These include loss and bereavement, relationship breakdowns, adultery, anxiety, stress and depression, domestic abuse, addiction and eating disorders. I am dedicated, congruent and passionate about my work. I do hope you feel able to contact me, and together we will work through your current issues at a pace you are comfortable with. I offer a free initial telephone appointment for adults and also for parents', to discuss your concerns, which provides an opportunity to ask questions. Following this we can arrange further appointments at a time that suits you. I offer flexible appointment times including evenings and weekends. I look forward to hearing from you and making the first steps together into a happier and calmer stage of your life.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
