About me

I'm an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist specialising in relationship, psychosexual, compulsive sexual behaviours, trauma and family therapy. I can help you manage challenges around issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship, communication and intimacy/sexual  problems, loss and bereavement, stress and trauma.

You are welcome to attend on your own, as a couple, partnership or family. Together we can explore any thoughts and emotions which make you feel uncomfortable and find ways to reduce their voltage and negative impact in your everyday life.

I can help you with a variety of personal, family, relationship, psychosexual, compulsivity and trauma issues working online, whether you are an adult individual, a couple or in a group. Life challenges can cause anxiety, sadness, low self-esteem and resentment. Negative feelings are frequently rooted in emotional trauma, either one big event or a cluster of smaller ones.

I have extensive experience working with:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Betrayal
  • Couples' Counselling
  • Communication issues
  • Loss and Bereavement
  • Work Related Stress
  • Past Relationships
  • Break-Ups
  • Cross Cultural Difficulties,
  • Forming Relationships
  • Family Dynamics
  • Intimacy Avoidance
  • Sexual Issues
  • Sexual Addiction/Compulsivity
  • Trauma

We all have our own, wonderful resources to overcome adversity and I can help you find yours. Having facilitated relationships between people of various cultures in a professional environment for over 30 years, I have gathered extensive and valuable knowledge and experience in enabling couple/partnership and sexual relationships, as well as guiding and helping to overcome compulsive behaviours when these do not serve well. Often earlier, adverse experiences negatively affect how we interpret the world around us; together we can unravel the yarn of these and reduce their emotional voltage.

I am a full clinical member of UKCP, BACP, COSRT Accredited, ATSAC Qualified and RELATE Registered.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

COSRT
College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT)

COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.

All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

ATSAC
Association for the Treatment of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity (ATSAC)

The Association for Treatment of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity (ATSAC) is the leading UK organisation providing hope, information, support, and treatment options for those affected by sexual addiction and compulsivity.

ATSAC sets standards of practice for qualified therapists and provides accreditation for specialist training courses. A therapist who has gone through ATSAC recognised training will have the knowledge to respect and work with you sensitively to find out how best to support your needs.

Therapy options may include one-to-one sessions, group work, and/or relationship counselling. ATSAC is a not-for-profit organisation.

Further information

We go at your pace. I work in a deeply compassionate way, facilitating change through collaborative dialogue, exercises, explaining and educating, yielding a positive feedback loop where there is no judgement or stigma, within a safe and contained environment. Each session is your own safe space where you may bring what feels comfortable to you. I will help you address dynamics and behaviours which no longer serve you well, empowering you to explore and adopt suitable alternatives with positive outcomes. I work affirmatively with diversity being it sexual, neural or relationship.

We all have an inherent need to connect, be accepted and valued emotionally, physically or otherwise. It's essential to our survival no matter what our background. Sometimes if we feel disconnected, anxious or unhappy we may look for a swift “pick-me up” which can quickly escalate out of control with unpleasant consequences on ourselves and our relationships with others. This may come in the form of addictions/compulsions, sometimes around sex. Many non-serving, soothing behaviours are propelled by emotional trauma and I can help you process this.

I have the privilege to have trained to postgraduate level and be part of one of the leading authorities in Relationship and Sex Therapy - RELATE, gathering valuable knowledge and experience in enabling family, couple and sexual relationships.

Where appropriate, I also offer guidance and advice to help address and resolve specific sexual issues through Psychosexual Therapy.

I strongly believe in keeping up to date with the latest research and newly emerging therapies, which I accomplish through attending over 100 hours of courses and seminars every year for continuous professional development.
