About me

When you are feeling sad, or struggling with anxiety, when relationships are challenging, life feels overwhelming, or you are facing a particular challenge, but you don't know how to address your feelings or problems, counselling can be a supportive space.

I offer sessions where together we can listen to and address what is on your heart and mind.

My aim is to provide a companionship that will help you to understand yourself and your circumstances better, so that you can make positive choices for your life.

Clients say that they appreciate having a space:

  • where they feel free to talk
  • where they don't feel judged
  • where they experience the support of a trained listener
  • where they gain new tools and insights for life

Training, qualifications & experience

My training took place over a period of several years in three different venues, each of which gave me its own perspective, and the counselling I offer is now informed by three key guides:

  • a belief in and support for the possibility of healthy relationship
  • the significance of the context in which you live
  • how we can come together to find out what makes your life meaningful

I have been on chaplaincy visiting teams in hospitals, a counsellor in a pregnancy support service and work now with a general counselling agency alongside private practice.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
