About me

It may be one or many things that have brought you here today, but whatever it is that you’re wanting to work on, I am here to support and empower you.

Welcome to a space of healing, growth, and self-discovery.

As a dedicated counsellor and psychotherapist, I am committed to providing a compassionate and supportive environment where individuals can navigate the complexities of their lives. Life's journey is filled with challenges, transitions, and moments that may leave us feeling overwhelmed. We will explore your unique experiences, uncovering the strength within you to foster positive change. Whether you're seeking guidance through difficult times, striving for personal development, or working towards a deeper understanding of yourself, I am here to accompany you on your path towards greater well-being and fulfilment. Together, we will embark on a therapeutic journey that promotes resilience, self-awareness, and the transformative power of self-discovery.

In my practice, I embrace a humanistic, integrative approach to therapy that recognises the inherent value and potential for growth within each individual. Grounded in the belief that every person possesses the capacity for self-actualisation, this approach emphasises the importance of creating a genuine and empathetic therapeutic relationship. By integrating various therapeutic modalities, such as person-centred, Gestalt, and existential approaches, we can tailor the counselling experience to meet your unique needs. This holistic approach considers the interplay of mind, body, and spirit, fostering a comprehensive exploration of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

Together, we will collaboratively weave the threads of your narrative, drawing on diverse therapeutic tools to enhance self-awareness, promote personal empowerment, and facilitate a deeper understanding of the intricate tapestry of your life. Through this integrative lens, I am dedicated to helping you navigate the complexities of your inner world and empowering you to embrace positive transformation and holistic well-being.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’ve always been curious about how our minds work. With many years’ experience working in pastoral roles in education, supporting students with special educational needs and mental health challenges, my career has been focussed on supporting others and enabling them to reach their full potential. I realised soon after starting work with teenagers and young people that I wanted to become a therapist and formally trained in Humanistic, Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I also have specialist training in working therapeutically with neurodiversity; specifically Dyslexia, Specific Learning Differences, Autism and ADHD.

My journey has taken me to different places, and I have experience working with people in a  range of therapeutic settings, including working with teenagers as a Student Counsellor, volunteering as a therapist at Hospice in the Weald to provide bereavement support to individuals, and at Tenterden Counselling Service; a charity providing affordable therapy to the community.

I currently run a private practice from my home in the Mendip Hills, just outside of Bristol. I also volunteer as a counsellor at Bristol Mind. I offer short or long-term therapy, depending on your needs, and am currently working online.

In a nutshell, my story is a mix of different experiences that have taught me a lot about how people handle challenges. Now, with all this experience, I'm here to offer support. I believe in the power of therapy to help people discover more about themselves and make positive changes. If you're looking for a space to explore and understand yourself better, I'm here to help.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
