About me

Hello, my name is Liz. I am an MBACP and MNCPS (Acc) registered counsellor, working primarily on a one to one basis. My special interest is working with individuals with mental health difficulties, ASD and ADHD.

I offer a safe, warm and confidential space in which you can freely and openly explore any difficulties that you may be experiencing. Having a deeper sense of your own needs and wants can help you to feel more fulfilled, satisfied and in control of your life. I will encourage you to deepen your level of self-awareness and understanding, helping you to reconnect with your inner self and make sense of how you are thinking and feeling.

Counselling can often feel daunting and overwhelming, especially during the beginning of the therapeutic process, and you may feel a medley of emotions throughout your time with me. It is my job to ensure you feel comfortable during the whole process, working at your pace with the sessions being led by you. The pace and depth of therapy will be centered on your needs. My aim is to build a balanced and equal partnership between us based on trust and respect, promoting your independence in a supportive and caring environment.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries or to arrange an initial consultation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
