About me
Hi, I'm Liz. Sitting in a room opposite a stranger can feel daunting but I promise you, it's a lot less uncomfortable than remaining where you are right now. If you are fed up of going around in the same circles in your relationship, or you're overwhelmed with career stress that is causing your anxiety to peak or you're navigating functioning with depression - you are likely feeling exhausted.
Regardless of the challenge you are facing, you don't have to do it alone. This is where counselling comes in. I would describe myself as a warm, nurturing and empathic person. You can always expect honest and open communication from me, and a great deal of humanity as I'm a person first, a therapist second. The foundation of any good therapy experience is the relationship between us, so building a good rapport is fundamental to the process.
I offer one to one counselling for adults 18+ in person from my therapy room in Tewkesbury or online from anywhere in the UK. People come to see me for many different reasons from navigating relationship difficulties, managing work related stress, identity questions, fertility issues, loss, bereavement, anxiety and depression.
I have a specialist interest in supporting military personnel, both serving and veterans as well as their family members. This can vary from processing particular incidents to navigating the cumulative stress of the job or navigating being the person who holds the fort while their partner is on tour.
I also provide specialist sessions to process the outcome of an Autism and/or ADHD diagnosis. Usually the process of assessment is long awaited and when you finally reach conclusion, it can feel like you are left in the unknown of "well what do I do now?!" These sessions are longer, one off appointments to make space for your thoughts and feelings but of course you can continue to have more sessions if you wish. (More details can be found on my website)
I often work creatively, giving space to feelings that might not yet have words. This can involve sand, clay, paints/mixed media, stones, writing, drawing and more. Creative interventions are helpful in moving away from thinking and into feeling, giving permission for play and for expression.
The work is led by you and we will go at your pace. I will support you to connect with yourself and take time to consider how your difficulties are impacting your life and in turn, how you can go about making changes for the better. If this sounds like it might be what you are looking for, get in touch.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
