About us

My name is Roz and I am a fully qualified therapist working from my own home in Romsey as a Humanistic counsellor. Most of us experience times in our lives when we need some help. We feel low, even overwhelmed -anxious, confused, struggling with relationships and conflicts, unsure of where to turn.  If, reading this, you‘re thinking ‘This is me too,’ please be reassured - you’re certainly not alone. I can offer a warm, safe, empathetic and confidential environment for you to explore these feelings. So - first, and most important of all - I’ll listen to you. My approach is “holistic,” which simply means I focus on you: on your free will, your human potential, your self-discovery. My sole purpose is to help you develop a strong and healthy sense of self and, by exploring your feelings, to discover and focus on your own strengths.

To assist you in this I work with Transactional Analysis Theory (TA). An internationally recognised form of modern psychology, TA assists in promoting personal growth that helps us to change - to fulfil our full potential in every aspect of our life. Other approaches I employ include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness.

Listening patiently, carefully, thoughtfully is what’s needed to offer insight and support for you to improve your own sense of who and where you are. To ‘put you in touch’ with your own thoughts and feelings.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications and experience include a Foundation Degree in Arts (with Distinction) in Humanistic Counselling, awarded by the University of Middlesex. This is a BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) Accredited Counselling Training Course, studied over 4 years.

I am also a Registered Counsellor with BACP and a member of the Hampshire Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. For the past two years, I have provided regular counselling sessions for students within a local College of Further Education.

Member organisations *

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
