About me
Hi, I’m Diya, a qualified integrative therapist and I provide online counselling and therapy sessions to adults (18 years plus).
Are you feeling low, with little energy or interest in daily activities? Struggling with anxiety, stress, or feeling overwhelmed? Facing challenges in relationships or coping with the loss of a loved one or a pet? Perhaps you're dealing with low self-confidence, questions about your identity, or finding it hard to navigate life changes and transitions. Maybe you're searching for your place in the world or seeking to address the lasting impact of trauma.
Perhaps it’s a more general sense of unease and you can’t put your finger on it. The reasons for seeking out therapy are varied and unique.
I offer a safe, non-judgemental and collaborative space where we can explore and process your challenges and experiences.
Together in our sessions, we will focus on helping you find relief, gain deeper self-awareness, and build clarity about your experiences. By exploring your thoughts and emotions in a supportive space and incorporating practical strategies tailored to your needs, we’ll work towards helping you feel more resilient and connected to your sense of self. My goal is to empower you with the tools and confidence to navigate life’s challenges and create meaningful change.
My approach is collaborative, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed, tailoring therapy to meet your unique needs and goals.
I worked at a think tank and then in marketing and research for many years before re-skilling as a therapist. I have an understanding of the pressures of working in a fast paced environment. I have lived in different countries, am of Indian heritage and bring all these diverse experiences to the way I work. I am experienced in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds through my work.
My work is supervised.

How I work:
I draw from and integrate different proven approaches including:
- Person centred
- Psychodynamic
- Trauma informed thinking
- Somatic and body work
- CBT
- Mindfulness among others
I address the past, present and hopes for the future and also other influences that impact and shape us, for example, the socio-political climate, different cultures, value systems and expectations and intergenerational experiences.
I incorporate time for feedback on what’s working and what can be done differently to make sure that therapy is working.

My memberships:
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and BAATN (Black African and Asian Therapy Network)
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
It is important to find the right therapist with whom you can feel comfortable and safe.
I offer a free no-obligation 20 minute online session which is an opportunity for us to connect initially. We can briefly discuss what is bringing you to therapy, practicalities such as your availability and I can answer any questions that you have about my approach and what you can expect. If we both feel we can work together, we will schedule our first session together.
In our first session, we will explore what is bringing you to therapy in more detail and explore your goals. This session will last for 50 minutes and will be charged at my usual fee.
If you would like to proceed, we will then schedule ongoing sessions. Sessions will usually take place at the same time weekly.
