About me

Hi I'm Debbie, a caring and very approachable experienced relational counsellor.

I provide an authentic therapeutic space that is warm, welcoming, confidential and non-judgemental. I strive to make my clients feel comfortable and safe, as I believe the rapport and connection is important between us.

From experience, this enables my clients to feel relaxed quicker, which helps them to reflect on their difficulties. This leads to finding new ways of working, to improve overall wellbeing which is unique to you and your individual needs.

Working relationally from a person centred approach which underpins my practice. I integrate different theories such as CBT, solution focused, TA, Gestalt mindfulness and creatively if required to help you resolve what ever is troubling you.

Taking that first step.

I understand how difficult it can be to try find help when you are really struggling. It takes courage and strength to make that first step to call someone.

So, if you decide to work with me, I can assure you that we will work at a pace and depth that feels right for you allowing you to resolve issues, anything from stress anxiety, bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, self harm, family and relationships to name a few.

Please give me a call with any questions, or why not pop me an email, I look forward to your contact. I offer short and long term therapy to suit your needs.

I currently have limited availability, please contact me if you would like to join my waiting list.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
