About me

Asking for help can be really difficult for many people. Deciding to contact a Therapist can be a daunting step to take. Counselling provides a safe space to enable the exploration of issues that challenge our lives and happiness. Experiencing difficult thoughts and feelings, can affect our behaviours and leave us feeling frustrated, alone and confused. Clients have told me that Counselling was a worthy investment to their wellbeing and future.

I use an integrative approach to Counselling to consider the whole life of the client, to help you become the best version of you. An Integrative Approach draws from a range of psychological theories, to enable tailoring to individual needs. At the heart of my work, is a Person-Centred Approach as I believe that we all know ourselves better than anybody else could.

I have worked with a diverse range of clients presenting with a variety of difficulties. Many clients have told me that Counselling changed their lives beyond what they initially imagined. My job is to help you to feel relaxed in a non judgemental environment where you can work to discover the way to the life that you truly want.

Finding the right Counsellor for you is an important first step. Research has found that the Therapeutic relationship is a key factor to enable change. I offer a half priced first session face to face and I am also offering online sessions. This will give us time to decide if we can work together. Thereafter, the session pace and direction are led by you, with help to focus on the presenting problem.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
