Dawn Leaman BSc (Hons) MBACP
Online during COVID 19 - Asking for help can be really difficult for many people. Deciding to contact a Therapist can be a daunting step to take. Counselling provides a safe space to enable the exploration of issues that challenge our lives and happiness. Experiencing difficult thoughts and feelings, can affect our behaviours and leave us feeling frustrated, alone and confused. Clients have told me that Counselling was a worthy investment to their wellbeing and future
I use an integrative approach to Counselling to consider the whole life of the client, to help you become the best version of you.An Integrative Approach, draws from a range of psychological theories, to tailor to individual needs. At the heart of my work, is a Person-Centred Approach as I believe that we all know ourselves better than anybody else could.
I have worked with a diverse range of clients presenting with a variety of difficulties. Many clients have told me that Counselling changed their lives beyond what they initially imagined. My job is to help you to feel relaxed in a non judgemental environment where you can work to discover the way to the life that you truly want.
Finding the right Counsellor for you is an important first step. Research has found that the Therapeutic relationship is a key factor to enable change. I offer a free initial telephone consultation. This will give us time to decide if we can work together. Thereafter, the session pace and direction are led by you, with help to focus on the presenting problem.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
