About us
Welcome and thank you for visiting.
I specialise in working with relationship trauma, whereby people have experienced psychological harm from significant relationships at any point in their life. Relational trauma is the after effects of abuse and encompasses a wide rage of experiences including - betrayal, neglect abandonment & suffering to name but a few.
My approach places you, our client, at the centre of the work. I seek to make trauma treatment accessible and flexible and believe the quality of the therapeutic relationship is paramount. As such, my work is highly bespoke and informed by a broad range of approaches. Please visit our website for more information daisychaincounselling.co.uk
What we can offer:
Short-term counselling. This is often solution focused and arranged within a set period of time with the option to extend. This type of therapy is helpful if you have one or two specific problems you want to focus on and resolve - it has a much tighter focus and is generally goal focused.
Open-ended sessions - This means we are here for as long as you need us and together we set the pace of the sessions which enables us to to explore your issues in your own time. This type of therapy supports people who have multiple concerns and would prefer an in-depth exploration of the history of their relationships and how these relationships impact their day-to-day living.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
