About me

Hi, I’m Corrie,

My private practice is based in the Liverpool area and I am currently offering online sessions via Zoom or telephone sessions for anyone in or outside the area.  So just send me a text or email and I'll try to get back to you within 24 hours.

I have experienced anxiety and depression myself and found counselling helped me and also motivated me to become a counsellor myself. I have an understanding of how difficult it can be to ask for help and be able to openly discuss issues you may be dealing with. Therefore, I provide a safe non-judgemental and confidential space where you can feel comfortable to be yourself. I will work with you to help you develop coping strategies and a greater understanding of your thoughts and feelings.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am qualified as an integrative counsellor (Fdsc Counselling) (Level 5) this means I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred and Psychodynamic Therapy. Basically it enables me to choose the best techniques to suit individual clients based on their own circumstances, needs and goals.
I have volunteered with CEWT counselling based in The Runcorn/Widnes area. I also have experience working as a listening volunteer for the Samaritans, so have a lot of experience with people who maybe having suicidal thoughts or feelings.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
