About me
Hello, my name is Cornetta. Thank you for visiting my profile.
I am an experienced trauma and attachment-based psychotherapist, as well as a relationship therapist. My clientele includes young individuals, adults, couples, families, and other partnerships. I offer support for those experiencing 'system overload,' often attributed to excessive social media use, which can adversely affect mental health by diminishing focus and fulfillment and exacerbating conditions such as ADHD and depression.
In addition, I provide a private and confidential space tailored for professionals who require coaching and leadership support, helping them navigate workplace challenges and enhance their personal growth.
In my practice, I provide a safe environment for all individuals to express themselves, regardless of gender, race, age, abilities, appearance, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, class, education, etc. Additionally, I have worked with senior leadership teams, nationally, and international clients, bringing a diverse and well-rounded perspective to my therapeutic approach.
Couples / Non-Binary Relationships
I specialize in fostering emotional connection, assertive communication, and intimacy. My expertise encompasses addressing issues such as negative communication, cohesive control, domestic violence, sex addiction/substance use, and infertility.
Individual
My services include goal setting, life skills coaching, anxiety and depression management, addressing shame, and healing from trauma associated with narcissistic relationships. I also assist those experiencing sexual compulsivity, including porn, love, and cyber addictions. Additionally, I provide compassionate support for individuals struggling with prolonged bereavement, aiding in the process of grief, finding meaning, and rebuilding their lives after loss.
Bereavement Counselling
For individuals experiencing loss or divorce, I offer counselling tailored to those who struggle with the natural course of bereavement. The process begins with an assessment to ensure that bereavement counselling is appropriate at this time. Sessions aim to address unresolved emotions, facilitate healing, and explore impactful strategies to move forward while honouring the grieving process.
This counselling is designed for those navigating grief with complexities that may include feelings of isolation, confusion, or overwhelming sadness. By focusing on individual needs, this service ensures a compassionate approach to understanding and overcoming the challenges associated with loss.
Improving Sleep
I offer tailored strategies to help clients enhance their sleep patterns, addressing common issues such as insomnia, restless nights, and sleep hygiene. Techniques include mindfulness exercises, relaxation training, and cognitive restructuring to establish healthier and more restorative sleep cycles.
Young People
I create a secure space for young individuals to communicate, with sessions every six weeks involving the caregiver.
Families
I address attachment and parenting skills, infertility, mental health, and divorce issues. This includes involvement in court proceedings and managing cases of parental alienation.
My approach involves mindful attention to your life with compassion, acceptance, openness, curiosity, and sensitivity. If you believe I may be of assistance, please contact me for further information.

· Recognition of personal strengths
· New possibilities and spiritual change
I aim to facilitate positive behavioral changes and eliminate detrimental habits. I have extensive experience working with actors, singers, and creatives on performance-related issues such as anxiety and depression. Currently, I am providing non-managerial counseling to NHS staff to address work-related stress.
Interests and Passions
I am dedicated to positive psychology, whole-system approaches, recovery models, and mindfulness. My interests include attachment theory, IFT, neuroscience, meditation, spirituality, and recovery. I specialize in assisting couples and individuals facing challenges related to emotional communication, self-compassion, attachment issues, separation, divorce, fertility, compassion fatigue, resilience, guilt, shame, and domestic abuse (victims).
Working with Men
I routinely assist men in enhancing their emotional communication, stress management, assertiveness, vulnerability, and understanding of masculinity. I possess comprehensive knowledge of parental alienation and associated legal proceedings.
Hypersexuality / Sexual Compulsivity
I support clients dealing with problematic sexual behaviors. My work encompasses couples, individuals, and partners struggling with internet pornography, sexual dysfunction, and attachment issues. I also cater to individuals with love addiction or cross-addictions, including those identified with BPD. Conversion therapy is not promoted.
LGBTQ2S+
While I am heterosexual, I offer a welcoming environment for members of the LGBTQ2S+ community. My experience extends to working with individuals identifying as BIPOC and/or trans.
Neurodivergent Individuals
As someone with dyslexia and ADHD, I provide a safe space to discuss and transform self-limiting beliefs affecting career advancement. I have collaborated extensively with teams and individuals on issues surrounding race, gender, compassion fatigue, discrimination, intersectionality, power dynamics, employment, complex trauma, and personal development.
Session Overview
The initial counseling session is a comprehensive assessment lasting about 50 minutes (up to 2 hours for Adult ADHD assessments, including input from a family member). Full payment is required prior to report processing and session planning.
For clients with trauma, addiction, sleep issues, or mood concerns, additional assessments may be necessary. Assessments for sex or pornography addiction will encompass attachment history and trauma.
Couples begin with individual sessions to assess each partner's needs and strengths before joint counselling. Cases involving parental alienation require court directions, including psychological assessments and orders, with a minimum of 10 sessions and additional time for report writing.
Standardized tools like PHQ-9 (depression), GAD-7 (anxiety), and DASH (domestic abuse) are employed as needed to aid case formulation and guide therapy. Early sessions focus on gathering information, understanding issues, and designing a therapy plan. Progress reviews ensure alignment with goals.
Practical Information
· Sessions are held weekly or fortnightly.
· Regular attendance is essential.
· Cancellations require 48 hours’ notice.
· Payment is due in advance of each session.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
