Colleen you helped me to get the old me back, I feel a can see things in perspective now

Colleen uses a down to earth approach, her aim is to help you find a better outcome no matter what the problem is. Colleen is an accredited member of the BACP, registered as a person-centred counsellor and a NCH registered hypnotherapist, with experience of working one-to-one with Trauma related difficulties and those who have been diagnosed with PTSD; people who have experienced family difficulties; or those who experience problems with food with or without a diagnosed eating disorder; anxiety; depression; complex bereavement and loss and those who: have problems forming or maintaining relationships; have been bullied or self harmed; lack self-confidence and self esteem; experiencing general anxiety disorders; have suffered emotional or physical abuse either recently or in the past; suffer phobias, panic attacks or obsessions. I also specialise in working with people who are struggling with sexual deviance, potential sexual offending, and those who have been charged with a sexual offence - the list is not exhaustive. Her private practice is on the ground floor, located on the Welsh border, local to Whitchurch, Shropshire and clients come from Shropshire, Wrexham and Cheshire. GP, and Private Health referrals are welcome but not necessary.   Colleen is caring, non-judgmental and above all, offers somewhere you can be accepted for who you are and you can work at your own pace, no issue is ever trivial, too great or small. If you'd like to talk to her about what counselling or hypnotherapy might mean for you, or to book an appointment, Colleen would be happy to hear from you. Working with The Long Boat Home group of UK psychotherapists and counsellors Colleen offers half-price sessions to anyone who is serving, or has served, in our forces - she also extends the same offer to their partners, adult dependants, and their parents. Colleen recognizes the need to support counselors in training and offer discounted rates for both short and long term work for all trainees.. For more information please visit her website. .

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
