About me

Taking care of our emotional health and well-being is important, but at times can be difficult and we can be left feeling overwhelmed, weighed down and at a loss as to where to turn. Making the first step is often the biggest one and investing in yourself is very powerful and a sign of strength. Finding the right counsellor can be a very daunting experience. I’m here to listen, support and help you navigate and explore ‘YOU’. We will work collaboratively to identify your strengths and make sense of the challenges you are facing by focusing on your self-awareness and building helpful coping strategies that will improve and maintain wellness.

I work in an integrative way with clients, meaning I use my core humanistic approach which is less directive. My counselling style is open to your unique experiences and working in this way will allow you to explore your experiences in the present but also look at how your past may have influenced your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I believe you are the expert and given the right conditions you can better understand yourself, develop, grow and find a way to fulfil your potential.

My commitment to you is to provide a professional, confidential counselling service in a safe, non-judgmental, compassionate environment. I’m a naturally caring and empathic person who can build good therapeutic relationships. I will enable and empower you to regain your sense of self by supporting you to develop better self-worth and help you find ways to make positive changes in your life.

My area of interest is Neurodiversity. I have trained with the National Autistic Society UK to enhance my understanding of the unique strengths and challenges individuals experience and the factors, impact and differences people may face through processing information, communicating, sensory, and managing stress and anxiety. This will enable me to recognise, respond and provide an effective approach to children, young people and adults whilst offering support to the families.

I am a fully trained clinical supervisor. I can offer supervision to trainee counsellors, counsellors, teachers, social workers and other professionals. I provide a safe, supportive space to enable you to explore, reflect, learn and develop your practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I like to start with a free telephone call to get a better idea of what challenges you are facing and what you might be looking for from therapy. I will also be happy to answer any questions you may have about how I work. If you feel that we are a good fit to work together and you are then happy to go ahead with counselling sessions, I will email you a contract of ways of working together before we meet and then go through it during our first assessment session. Please book an intro call by clicking on the tab at the top of the page or text/email me with your details and I will call you back at a convenient time for you.
