About me

Feeling anxious, lost or stressed? Thinking and/or feeling that no one understands? This can feel like a very lonely place to find yourself in and I know as I’ve been there.  Feeling not good enough or not worthy of anyone or anything can lead to you feeling like giving up but there is light at the end of the tunnel and you are now at the beginning of that journey.  My name is Chris and I work with people experiencing multiple problems in their life that make them become anxious and unable to cope. I specialise in anxiety brought about by life changes such as end of relationships, kids off to uni and empty nest syndrome, dissatisfaction with life and loss, which can be anything from loss of confidence, a job, a home as well as bereavement.  I provide you with a safe place to talk, to share and help you find ways of coping that suit you.

Life can be difficult at times for all of us for many reasons so you shouldn’t feel embarrassed about how you may be feeling - you are human as am I and having experienced the benefits of counselling myself and seeing how it can help you change your life want to offer you that option.  If you want to look forward to waking up in the morning and feel confident that you can deal with whatever the day throws at you; or you want to just like yourself again and make those changes that will make you want to smile again, then there is a way.

It takes a lot of courage to even start considering seeking help and I know how difficult it is to take the first step, so congratulations on being here. Sometimes it's difficult to know whether counselling is right for you or not, that's why I offer a free, no obligation 20 minute telephone consultation for anyone who has uncertainties or questions about therapy and would like a space to talk them through. To book either a free consultation or your first therapy session you can telephone or send an email and I will respond within 24 hrs.

It may be that you will only need to have a short number of sessions and this does work well for many people, alternatively, it may be evident that a longer period of counselling is required in order to reach your desired goals and this is something that we can discuss as we go along.

It may seem easy for me to relate the benefits of how I can help so in the words from a previous client (with her consent) “Chris immediately made me feel at ease, so I could be open and honest, she gave me a number of techniques to try out for my anxiety and was very quick to finding alternatives if I didn’t feel they were right for me. I would describe her as friendly, empathetic and kind. I am in a much better place thanks to her help. Cannot recommend her enough!”

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
