About me

Client Reviews

Have a read below to see how some of my existing clients find their therapy sessions, how they find me as a therapist, and some of the benefits they take from therapy.

"I have over the past number of months had a number of sessions and I will not say that initially I was wanting or thinking these sessions would do me any good. How wrong I was.

Charlotte listens, and really has helped me through the darkest time I have ever had. We all bottle things up, me more than any. However, these sessions give me the time to discuss and evaluate the present and the future.
Charlotte is very professional, caring, and advises and understands problems and feelings.

I cannot thank her enough for her help and guidance over the past number of months."

"I have been seeing Charlotte now for several months and can honestly say her therapy sessions are really quite relieving, no matter how bad you're feeling and whatever you're going through, she will always listen and make you feel better, once you've explained everything to her. Initially, when I first started having my sessions with her, I was somewhat unsure of exactly what to say to her, but now I feel completely comfortable with her, and look forward to our talks, always. She is so encouraging and understanding of your situations that once you've had your first few sessions with her you will wonder why you haven't done this sooner. She is truly amazing and I couldn't recommend her enough."

"Working with Charlotte has been transformational and life-affirming. I have suffered from depression and anxiety for as far as I can remember. Our therapy sessions have provided me with a safe and non-judgemental space to explore my thoughts and feelings in a free open ended manner. This style of therapy suited me as it enabled me to analyse and self-reflect on parts of myself and my life that were not easy to acknowledge. In each session I could feel Charlotte’s sincere compassion and care. Charlotte offered a perfect balance of empathy, authenticity, candour and professionalism which enabled me to make progress during my therapy and become my own teacher. Our therapy sessions have equipped me with simple tools to problem solve any future crisis that may lie ahead. Charlotte’s greatest gift to me was to teach me to be kind to myself and acknowledge my feelings of sadness. I am forever grateful for our sessions."

"In my time having counselling with Charlotte, I have seen a positive impact on my life as a whole. After having 2 lots of CBT that I felt did not fit my needs, I thought I would try a counselling approach. During my sessions with Charlotte, I have overcome barriers that were a permanent struggle for me for many years, and now thanks to Charlotte's warm, calm, relaxed and realistic way of thinking, I am now able to face my own barriers in a realistic and relaxed manner. When I first came to Charlotte, I was heavily anxious, stressed and wound up for most days. Having mild Asperger's, this was hard, as I could only think of negative things or experiences I had. With Charlotte's assistance and guidance, I was able to face my experiences differently, and was treated with respect at all times. I would recommend Charlotte to anyone who has suffered with anxiety as she is fantastic at taking in how you feel, with any experience or situation you need to discuss, in a well supported environment."

"I have had 6 sessions with Charlotte. She has helped me in so many ways. She is an amazing counsellor! I feel so much lighter/happier, since having my sessions. It has helped me to find myself again, and focus on me. She has really helped me to get through a difficult stage in my life. I would definitely recommend Charlotte if you need someone to talk things through with. It took me a very long time to go to any sessions- I just wish I had gone sooner."

"I am a 45 year old woman. When I first came to therapy I was desperate and struggled with a number of issues that I had kept buried and silenced.  Through Charlotte’s care and empathy I started to unpick my journey, starting from childhood, and through key stages of my life. I needed the time and space to truly process things which therapy afforded me. Charlotte has helped me to face traumatic experiences bravely and with genuine compassion. She is exceptional at truly listening and understanding, never judgemental. Over time through our weekly sessions, I have come to a place of hope and trust. For anyone considering therapy what I would say is don’t be afraid to try. This was something that was so hard for me, speaking about myself was hugely difficult and painful. But once I had crossed that threshold it became a process of self-discovery. Therapy has been a truly life-changing experience where I have been finally able to discover my true self, my own identity. I feel empowered and strong. A different person than 3 months ago."

"Charlotte is an excellent Counsellor; she is deeply empathic and intuitive with a genuine, authentic approach to working with people that gives her clients the opportunity to feel truly heard, understood and respected at a deep level. She is passionate about what she does, and this passion follows through in to the deep care and presence she offers her clients. As a fellow Counsellor, I would not hesitate in recommending Charlotte."

“Charlotte has given me a safe space to express my true feelings without fear of judgement and has helped me to make sense of how I am feeling and why I am feeling this way. She allows me to choose what I would like to talk about and simply offers a helping hand. In this way, she gives me confidence that I have the power within myself to heal, but gives me comfort knowing that I have her support and expertise.”

"When I first started here, I didn't know what to expect. I was in a dark place and didn't know if there was light at the end of the tunnel for me. After working with Charlotte on a weekly basis, life now seems much more manageable and there is definitely a future for me out there! There is not enough thanks in the world that I can give, because I am certain that without Charlotte helping me, I wouldn't be alive to write this."

"In the last two years, a lot of things have changed for me but one thing always remained constant: Tuesdays at 1pm. These Tuesdays have helped me through a lot of things and kept me on the path towards getting better. I don't know if I would even be here today if it wasn't for your help and continued support. As difficult as it's been to overcome some of the things I've been faced with, having you as my counsellor has helped me greatly. You've made me think positively on days were all I could see was negativity. I wish there was a way to show you how much you've helped me. All I can do is say this: thank you."

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
