About me

My counselling approach is active, open, and transparent, aimed at helping you understand the process. I enjoy working closely with others to address challenges and facilitate personal growth. With curiosity as our guide, I'll support you in exploring your needs, motivations, and patterns, empowering you to make choices and create change in your life. I truly believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship. Sharing your struggles can uncover forgotten strengths and resilience, offering hope. In my welcoming, judgment-free space, we'll delve into whatever brings you to therapy, whether it's navigating anxiety, depression, issues of identity, family dynamics, or painful memories. With extensive experience in areas like life transitions, family conflicts, and relationship issues, I offer culturally sensitive support, respecting diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Together, we'll seek clarity and healing, fostering greater fulfillment in your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I undertook 4 years of training at City Literature where I gained a Certificate and Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling. I have specific training in working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence: Award for Professionals Working in the Sexual Violence Sector from Open College Network, West Midlands.

In addition to working in private practice, I am also supporting trainee counsellors in placement, and working for an organisation providing financially accessible counselling remotely. I have worked for low-cost therapy services online, in Hackney, and a domestic and sexual violence charity.

As a qualified counsellor, I abide by the BACP's ethical standards and principles. I am dedicated to my professional practice and I pursue new training and supervision to help me in my work. I am also a member of BAATN, am aware of issues of power and inequality, and strive to promote anti-discriminatory practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
