About me

Hello, I'm Caroline, and I offer online therapy for adults. I believe in the power of therapy to provide you with a safe space to explore where you are in life and where you want to be. My aim is to support you in living a more authentic and meaningful life.

With experience as a counsellor and psychological therapist in the NHS and charity sector, I bring a wealth of expertise to my practice. I have worked with individuals facing a variety of challenges and offer a warm, empathetic, and supportive environment where you can freely share what has brought you to therapy.

I believe in working collaboratively with my clients, tailoring my approach to meet your specific needs and goals. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or other concerns, I'm here to help you navigate through them.

I understand that reaching out for help can be daunting. Acknowledging that you may need support and contacting a therapist is a courageous step towards finding relief and healing. You don't have to face your challenges alone, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.

If you're ready to take that step or have any questions about how therapy can support you, feel free to reach out. I'm here to listen and support you on your journey towards greater well-being and fulfillment.

Training, qualifications & experience

I use a variety of theoretical models and tools depending on your needs.

  • Current training - Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy training (DIT is a time-limited psychodynamic therapy), Anna Freud Centre, London
  • Current training -  Counselling For Depression (CFD) Modality. University of Nottingham
  • Postgraduate Certificate Psychological Wellbeing Practice
  • Master of Science in Counselling (MSc), University of Northampton
  • A Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Psychology  (BA Hons)

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP); I am currently working towards accreditation with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) as a DIT Therapist.

I am guided by and adhere to both BACP and UKCP codes of ethics and professional conduct.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Initial assessment

This will last 50 minutes and give us an opportunity to meet and develop as good a picture as we can of what you’re finding difficult in your life, and how this is affecting you. Based on this, we can begin thinking about what would be most helpful for you. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you would like and to agree with your therapist about what you’re looking to gain out of the therapy.

I believe that it is important to find the right person to work with and to explore the potential fit. Although my training and qualifications are important, it comes down to whether we feel we can build on our initial meeting.

I work with people both for an agreed number of sessions (short-term) and on a longer-term, open- ended basis. Each session lasts 50 minutes and sessions are usually weekly.

If you have any questions about how I work, please contact me and I'll do my best to answer them.
