About me

I am a person centred counsellor working with children and adults.

I work in a client led way, allowing you as my client to find what works for you and what you need from our sessions. I provide you with a non-judgemental and empathic safe space in which you are free to explore any aspects of yourself including what you feel restricted to explore in your life and in society (away from social judgement and pressure). You might feel that you are not supported in your community. You could feel isolated, you might have lost your sense of who you are and/or you might feel disconnected from yourself. I am here to be with you in anything you might want or need to explore. I will go at your pace so that we can explore anything you would like to together; so that you may be more aware of and connected to yourself and your needs, and so you may be more able to make conscious choices around how to be in the world.

As a neurodivergent counsellor that has suffered childhood trauma, I am most passionate about supporting people through their trauma. Everyone is different and everyone’s experience of trauma is different. It is not only about what happened to you but also how you experienced it at the time and how you continue to experience it now. I know it could feel really hard and scary to allow yourself to look at painful memories and feelings and attempt to trust someone with them. However, I believe that this could be a step towards healing. If you feel that your inner voice is trying to guide you in a direction you find difficult, I am here to support you in your journey of self-discovery whilst holding in the forefront of our relationship your needs and feelings around safety and trust.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
