About me

“Flowers are restful to look at. They have neither emotions nor conflicts.” (Sigmund Freud)

I believe therapy not only offers a space for processing confused, difficult or painful feelings but also aids self-discovery and self-development. I offer a safe space for my clients where they may explore things they have never talked about before.

My priority is to provide a confidential, empathic and accepting atmosphere in which my client is free to question, reflect upon and express their true and unique Self. I do this by developing a therapeutic connection with my client so that I can accompany them on their journey side by side to find their own answers.

I am registered with and work under the ethical codes and practises of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the National Counselling Society (NCS).

Training, qualifications & experience

"Freedom is what you do with what's been done to you." (Jean-Paul Sartre)

BA in Education with Psychology

Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling: Integrative Pathway

Certificate in Counselling Skills

Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling

Certificate in Mental Health Aid

Being Integrative not only allows me the flexibility to work with various techniques but also in different modalities. Based on my training, I draw from the psychological modality of the Psychodynamic, Humanistic and CBT approaches in general.

However, my specific approach is always tailored to my client's therapeutic needs as I recognise that each person is unique with a multitude of distinct experiences and feelings.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

My special area of counselling includes working with identity, personality, autonomy and how their intersectionality influences relationships with Self and Others. In other words, how your identity, personality and the need for freedom influences the way you feel about yourself and in turn, the way you relate to other people. Unable to express or accept our authentic Self may generate a myriad of feelings such as guilt, low self-esteem or anger. Therapy can help to process these feelings and strengthen your identity.

I am open to the use of creative techniques, such as dreamwork, chair work, images and symbols.

Further information

Remote counselling: online or by telephone

Remote counselling is a flexible way to seek help as it can be arranged in any private, comfortable and safe environment, such as your home or car. You may wish to use head or earphones to reduce the extent of our conversation being overheard. There is no need to travel to see each other in person and there is greater flexibility regarding availability. Whichever format you choose, therapy offers a space where you can feel understood without judgement, confidentially explore your feelings and problems and discover a way forward.
