About me

Hi...I'm Ayesha..

Has time been passing you by and you realise that something in your life is missing.  It doesn’t feel complete.   This may be as a result of relationship issues you may be having and the need for a different perspective.  Someone you can talk to in confident.  Or perhaps you are struggling with anxiety and trying to figure how to break the mould.   All of this may be leading to low self-esteem and self-worth, and possible isolation.

I’m here to support you, to help you realise your own sense of purpose and understand your own direction.   We all have an opportunity to discover the positives in ourselves and explore internal barriers that may have been created over time.   My focus is to work with you to understand and provide another perspective, and understand the issues you may be experiencing. I believe therapy can help to identify and take down barriers, helping you to start living a fuller and rewarding life.

We all have the ability to change our path for the better and in working together, we can focus on achieving your goals.

You can contact me to find out more, or for further information,  please go to www.agcounselling.co.uk

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified humanistic therapist, registered with the BACP.   My training was integrative in nature, underpinned by a person-centred approach.  This means that you are at the centre of the work we do, with a belief that you have the answers within you. In working this way, you will be heard and listened to in a warm and supportive way.

In addition to running a private practice, I also work for the charity West Kent Mind, and have experience of working with adults with issues including relationships, childhood sexual abuse, job loss, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, bereavement and loss.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
