About me
Hi, my name is Avril, I am a fully qualified BACP registered counsellor. I offer person-centred counselling from a quiet, safe location on Rodney Street (Liverpool City Centre).
I work in a humanistic way, accepting you as you are. Together we will work through what you choose to bring to the sessions, safe in the knowledge that what we discuss is confidential with no judgement. The focus will always be on you and your wants and needs.
What to expect:
I understand that the decision to begin counselling can evoke anxious feelings. This is natural and I will provide you with the space, time and support that you need to explore your story at a pace that suits you.
Should you be interested to find out more you can call or email to set up an initial session; We'll talk about what you want to get out of counselling. This will be for 30 minutes and free of charge. Following this initial session there is no obligation to continue, that decision is solely yours to make.
If you decide to proceed we will begin to meet weekly/fortnightly for 60 minute sessions.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
