About me

Sometimes life can seem difficult and overwhelming. Are you struggling with feelings of sadness, fear, confusion, anxiety or simply feeling stuck? Are you finding it difficult to talk about your experiences and feel alone?

It can take a lot of courage and strength to take the first step to contact a counsellor and begin the process of working through the challenges you are experiencing. Whether you are looking for help with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, work related issues, stress or other troubling life events counselling may help.

I can offer a safe and confidential space in which to build an honest and trusting relationship where you can explore the difficulties you may be experiencing in your daily life and in the relationships with the people around you. Through the collaborative process of counselling, your experience will be valued and respected, helping you to make sense of your feelings and worries. In this supported and safe environment, you will come to understand yourself and your situation with deeper clarity and you will learn to trust yourself and strengthen your resources so that you can live fully in the present.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a humanistic counsellor I believe that all people have an inherent yearning for human connection, growth, healing and self-knowledge. I recognise and appreciate the unique-ness and human-ness of all people and with this central tenet I welcome people from all walks of life to counselling irrespective of gender, culture, sexual orientation, religious beliefs or ethnic origin.

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Humanistic counselling and have trained in three complimentary modalities, namely Gestalt Therapy, Person Centered Counselling and Transactional Analysis - I am able to adapt my counselling skills to suit your immediate needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
