About me

I understand how it feels to be at war with yourself, battling your inner critic and never feeling good enough.

Are you constantly worrying, full of self-doubt, and second-guessing your choices? Do you feel like you are trying your utmost to be better or get 'it' right? Do you desperately want to feel loved and like you belong, but somehow always feel like you are falling short?

It is possible to live a fulfilling life where you can improve your self-worth, stop seeking reassurance, and feel good enough. You deserve to finally find that inner peace you have long been chasing and I know that I would feel privileged to support you through it.

I specialise in high-functioning anxiety and help people who:

  • Want to let go of negative self-talk and low self-esteem
  • Have experienced trauma, shame, or neglect in childhood
  • Battle imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and/or burnout
  • Feel overwhelmed with stress or fears of abandonment
  • Have strained or unhealthy relationships
  • Want to gain self-acceptance and overcome their insecurities

I see therapy as an opportunity for you to come home to yourself. To find who you truly are, your voice, and your identity. It's a place where you can explore your difficulties and tensions, your emotions, and experiences, and begin to heal and grow. Where you can feel what it is like to be fully accepted without judgement and find a pathway forward.

I understand how difficult it can be to begin therapy so I do my best to support you in feeling comfortable and at ease. I challenge you where appropriate to help you develop resilience, gain self-awareness, and identify patterns. I work collaboratively but ultimately I see you as the expert of your own life.

Please look at my website to find out more, click on my Instagram to get a feel for who I am, and feel free to get in touch if you feel I may be the right counsellor for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience working as a school counsellor for children and young people; counselling those who are aged between 11-18. Additionally, I have experience working within an agency setting offering counselling to adults between 18-80. I also have experience working for Bluebird Care, offering telephone and Zoom counselling sessions for their carers.

Alongside my private practice, I am a director of a community interest company called Let's Talk - Counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing Services. We work in collaboration with a wide network of charities and agencies to deliver mental health support groups and psychoeducational workshops tailored to the needs of different groups of service users for our local community.

I was a volunteer for Shout Crisis Text Line. I completed their training and dedicated over 200 hours to supporting those in need of urgent support and care.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
