About me

Thank you for visiting my profile page. My name is Antonia, it can be a very daunting experience choosing a counsellor but you have taken the first step.

I offer 50 minute sessions online, via Teams, Zoom or WhatsApp (in the evenings) and face-to-to face sessions on a Saturday between 11-3pm.

I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist (Level 7). Integrative Therapy draws from three main approaches, Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), this approach gives the ability to tailor counselling to meet your individual needs.

I am a member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I adhere to their ethical code and complaints procedures. The BACP is the leading professional association for members of the counselling profession they develop and promote safe, ethical, competent practice.

My focus is to create a therapeutic relationship that is human, caring, and respectful. I believe building a strong therapeutic relationship and working collaboratively with you is the key to growth and change. In my experience working this way supports the development of increased self-awareness. This often leads to  clarity, insight, growth and change for you as the client.

My approach to Counselling is everyone is unique, therefore what works for one client might not work for another. I trained in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, which allows me to bring different elements of specific therapies together in order to suit your individual needs.

My aim is to offer a relaxed, down to earth, safe and confidential space for you to talk about whatever issues you may have.  I understand that clients often bring  subjects to therapy that are deeply private and can be uncomfortable and/or upsetting to talk about. My aim is to provide a space where you as the client feel able to talk freely whilst remaining safe.

I am continually embracing new ways of working through continued professional development.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
