About me
With over a decade of experience, I am very straight-forward and very supportive. I love my job and am very proud of what my clients achieve. I draw on a wide base of practical and theoretical insight, and bring compassion, ideas and the odd laugh. I'm not perfect and I don't expect you to be. My goal is to see you move beyond current difficulty, strain or despair to a way of life that feels better than you imagined - confident that you have defined your next chapter around who you really are, with boundaries in place and a clear focus on what works for you at home and at work.
With a background in lecturing and business, my client base tends to be equally split between women and men, and covers all ages, professions and issues. My work often straddles home/relationship/family and professional/university life, looking at goals and strategies for both.
I support and challenge you through your process of understanding, healing, re-building and change. I regularly work with clients who have had counselling before and return to get to the bottom of what has troubled them. I want you to gain the maximum long term results from the time and energy you invest in yourself.
After one session you will know whether I am the right counsellor for you. The relationship we build is crucial to how effective the counselling will be, and how much trust and support you think we'll be able to share.
I work in weekly sessions and in intensive 2 day programs (individuals, couples and groups). For further information regarding the intensive programs please see www.gardengate.org.uk.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
