About me

Finding a counsellor can be an unnerving prospect. I know. It can be a confusing process to manoeuvre whilst life is already challenging. Hopefully I can make this a little easier for you. I aim to be personable and engaging whilst you share your experience with me.

Working with me means that I will aim to create a space to work on yourself to achieve what you need to resolve the discomfort that you’re experiencing. Plus, I will offer this space in a way that is sensitive and accepting to your individual background and identity.

I offer a free 20 minute consultation (either online or on the phone) to discuss your initial needs, but also for you to see what it might be like to work with me.

The first session will be an exploration of how we'll work together to create a plan that will help you feel better. Sometimes, trying to vocalise what's hurting can be so overwhelming that some things can’t be easily and immediately defined. And that’s OK too. Just having the space to talk can be helpful in itself, and we’ll be building a collaborative relationship that can support the future exploration for you to gain clarity and move forward in life.

Sessions are 50 minutes long. I offer both long and short-term work. Sessions can be online or face-to-face (in Kentish Town, NW5 or High Barnet, EN5).

Whatever challenges you face, counselling can be the most empowering thing you could do for your wellbeing.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a qualified BACP Integrative counsellor, having completed my Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling. I work using Person-Centred theory combined within a grounding of Psychodynamic practice. What this means for you is that my work can be creative and engaging, but flexible to ensure that I can find an approach which is unique to you and your needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
